Understanding hosting costs: monthly prices and prepayment
What amount is actually due?
The comparison column “per 30 days” makes different periods mathematically comparable. It is not the invoice amount. The original price, payment period, required costs and tax statement for the specific offer remain decisive.
A worked example, not a current offer
Suppose a tariff costs €6.00 per calendar month without a setup fee. Using our convention of 365.2425 ÷ 12 days per calendar month, that equals €5.91 per 30 days. The actual payment is still €6.00 per calendar month.
A second, also fictional offer requires €60.00 upfront for twelve calendar months. That equals €5.00 per calendar month or €4.93 per 30 days. However, €60.00 is due when ordering. A lower comparison price does not automatically mean a smaller first payment.
Check promotions, renewal and required costs separately
A promotion may apply only to the initial period. Compare it with the regular price and check how long it applies. A first-payment ranking requires evidence of mandatory one-off costs. An unknown setup fee does not mean €0. The regular price ranking compares ongoing prices; it is not a complete total-cost comparison.
What does monthly billing mean?
Monthly billing alone does not establish monthly cancellation rights or a particular minimum contract term. Check these terms in the original source. With long-term prepayment, the total amount actually due remains decisive.
What if VAT is unclear?
The default EUR selection includes VAT-inclusive prices, final prices without VAT shown and prices without explicit tax evidence. Unknown taxes may be added. The cheapest displayed price is therefore not always the lowest certain final amount. Use the tax filter when needed and check the original offer.
