PUBLISHED COMPARISON RULES

Only the evidence-backed price.

Units and selection

Our lists distinguish RAM, player limits, price per GB, fixed packages, unlimited packages, Minecraft VPS and resource pools. Java and Bedrock stay separate; a tariff is assigned to both editions only when the provider explicitly supports that claim. Every price order uses the same original currency and tax basis. We do not estimate exchange rates or assume VAT. The recorded providers are a selection, not a complete view of the market. Slots, CPU, storage and location are shown as separate characteristics.

Price order

The default is the regular recurring final price. We convert a calendar month to 30 days using 365.2425 ÷ 12 days per month. We round to the nearest cent using commercial rounding and sort prices in ascending order. Prices tied to the cent receive the same rank; providers within a tie are listed alphabetically.

Promotions and mandatory costs

The first billing period is a separate selection. Its price, promotional terms and mandatory one-off costs must be evidenced. An unknown setup fee is not treated as zero. Renewal prices remain visible. The regular price view compares recurring costs; setup costs are stated separately on the provider’s website.

Updates

The price checker retrieves accessible public original sources once a day. Price, RAM, final-price status and billing period must clearly refer to the same configuration. Blocked sources are not retried automatically; they are checked manually roughly every 72 hours. This does not renew price evidence. The next suggested manual verification date is calculated from the last actual attempt and does not promise an automatic retrieval. The actual verification date and the “Manually verified” label remain visible; retrieving or publishing a page alone does not extend the evidence period.

An error message, an accessible landing page or an unchanged “from” price does not count as a successful price check. Evidence loses its rank after seven days. Expired promotions receive no rank. The default EUR view ranks VAT-inclusive prices, final prices without separately stated VAT under § 19 UStG (German small-business VAT exemption), and prices without explicit tax evidence together. Every tariff without tax evidence is labelled; taxes may be added. The individual tax options remain available. Default filters for other currencies retain their existing tax basis. The view of all original tariffs has no shared price rank.

Neutrality

The operator connection is disclosed and does not affect any sorting step. A cheaper competitor appears ahead of the operator’s own offer; ties remain ties. We do not sell ranking positions. We link directly to original sources.

What a price rank tells you

“Lowest evidence-backed tariff for this selection” assesses the price alone. It does not assess support, speed or suitability for a particular world or modpack. A comparison claim requires at least two providers, including at least one with no operator connection. The Each brand has its own row and counts as its own provider.

Operator connection

Operator connection: the operator of HostComparator also runs game-serverhosting, mcfreehost, SupremeTier, EZPlayHost, MCRedstone. This connection does not affect the price order.

Default selection and price summary

The homepage and unfiltered Minecraft page start with Java, 4 GB RAM, EUR and monthly billing. The documented comparison of 11 October 2026 placed 4 GB among the most widely evidenced sizes with 21 providers; it was already an editorial entry point. Neither our own nor other providers’ ranks determine the default, and price changes do not change it. 4 GB is not a general resource recommendation. Changes require documented user or coverage needs. Range and tariff median use all matching tariff rows before pagination. Different tariffs from one provider count separately. The homepage shows the first ten rows plus all price ties at the boundary. Each brand counts as its own provider, including the operator’s brands.

Frequently asked questions

What does “per 30 days” mean?

It is a calculated comparison unit, not the amount on your bill. The original price and actual billing period remain decisive.

Does an operator connection affect the price order?

No. The same price rules and evidence expiry periods apply to the operator’s brands and other providers. Prices tied to the cent share a rank.
